Recently the FDA revised their wording on Testosterone Supplement labels to include higher risks including heart attack, personality changes and infertility. The FDA in their news statement warned that “Abuse of testosterone, usually at doses higher than those typically prescribed and usually in conjunction with other AAS, (Anabolic Steroids) is associated with serious safety risks affecting the heart, brain, liver, mental health and endocrine system.”

It is important to note that the FDA is basing this claim off the overuse of Testosterone with the added use of other Anabolic Steroids. There is also no distinction of the type of Testosterone supplement used or origin, whether Bio Identical or conjugated.

Our physicians only prescribe Bio Identical Testosterone for men who have certain medical conditions. We prescribe the dose that is appropriate to maintain proper hormone balance and monitor laboratory test levels and symptoms closely to prevent over or under dosing as an individual’s life changes over time.

It is important to know both sides of the stories that appear in the news, and to know that your trusted physicians are constantly on top of the latest medical evidence and research to keep you in the best health possible.
